Join Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences (CPNAS) and the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center (SEEC) for a day of family fun. Visitors will have an opportunity to explore Igniting the Imagination: Selections from the Collection of the Mazza Museum, an exhibition featuring original artwork from picture books relating to science, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. Visitors can read the books in which the artwork appears and participate in a variety of hands on activities based upon the artwork. Participants can make a city construction site, dissect a log, play with objects from nature, and make a balloon rocket.

Children will make connections to the sciences through literature, illustrations, and hands on activities. The program is geared for families with children ages 3-8.
